After travelling around South America with her husband in 1972, Faliu found her initial inspiration. Her paintings are bold and high in colour and motion. On her return to Britanny in 1984 after living in New Caledonia and Corsica, she painted her first abstract works inspired by still life. In 1987, the ’Moroccan’ series was a turning point, transitional work between pur abstract and more constructed compositions, almost geometrical, although remaining totally free in the lines and shapes as well as in the colours.
Each day in her workshop, FALIU lives, paints, varnishes, polishes and weaves
in the extraordinary semi-magic atmosphere of her home. Constantly working, but a work of love and passion, the ingredients bieng those of inspiration and research. Faliu’s touch brings beauty and emotion.
